Interviews with Innovators Whose New Technologies and Enterprises Are Shaping The Future of Upstate New York
THE SMARTACUS APPROACH TO
COLLABORATIVE STORY TELLING
With your engagement in a SMARTACUS Work Space, we'll aim to complete five steps between now and the holiday break in December:
INTRODUCTION: We ask Subjects to respond to our Ten Questions by the opening of classes on September 5th. When seated in Basecamp, students will browse your responses along with those of 30 or 40 other prospective Interview Subjects and make their selections.
ONLINE INTERVIEW: The Student's first task will be to develop additional questions to pose to each's Subject. This interchange will take place through the first week of October, at which time the Students will write the Discovery Draft.
DISCOVERY DRAFT: This will be the Student's first effort at writing an 800-to-1200 word profile of you. The Student will share it with you as a prelude to the Face-to-Face Interview that will take place in late October or early November.
FACE-TO-FACE INTERVIEW: Connecting by phone, Zoom, or in-person, Students will ask for feedback on the draft and ask additional questions to flesh out their stories.
FINAL DRAFT: Students will rework the story and share it with the Subject, who, as the story's co-author, ultimately must approve it for publication.
Our goal is to complete a substantive feature story about you by December 20th.
